Guwahati Swimmer Himantaa Barbara Wins Silver and Bronze at Asian Masters Swimming Championship

Represents India in the Women’s 40–44 Age Category at the Championship in Bengaluru

Guwahati swimmer Himantaa Barbara has brought laurels to Assam by winning two medals at the 2nd Asian Masters Swimming Championship, held in Bengaluru from October 4 to 10, 2026.

Representing India in the Women’s 40–44 age category, Barbara secured the silver medal in the 400m Individual Medley and the bronze medal in the 4×50m Women’s Medley Relay.

She also delivered commendable performances in the freestyle events, finishing fifth in both the 200m Freestyle and the 400m Freestyle.

Barbara’s achievement at the international-level championship is a proud moment for Assam’s sporting community and highlights her dedication and commitment to swimming.
