Omani Co-Pilot Handed Over to UAE After Attack on Indian Pilot Aboard Flydubai Flight
Saudi Arabia has handed over to the UAE the Omani co-pilot accused of attacking Indian pilot Smit Machchhar aboard a Flydubai flight bound for Tel Aviv.
The incident forced the aircraft to make an emergency landing in Tabuk on Wednesday. Saudi Arabia’s Interior Ministry said a preliminary investigation confirmed that the co-pilot assaulted the captain during the flight.
The probe, conducted with UAE security teams, is ongoing, with authorities examining a possible terror motive amid heightened regional tensions.
