Bribery Case: GMCH Assistant Professor Dismissed From Service

A doctor accused of taking a bribe for a post-mortem report has been dismissed from government service.

Dr Manoj Kumar Baishya, Assistant Professor in the Department of Forensic Medicine at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), has been dismissed following a departmental inquiry into a bribery case dating back to 2019. Baishya was arrested in November 2019 by the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption while allegedly accepting ₹8,000 in connection with a post-mortem examination report. Following his arrest, the doctor remained under suspension from November 2019.
