After a nearly four-month break, the Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve is all set to reopen for tourists in the first week of October. According to a general notice issued by the Eastern Assam Wildlife Division, jeep safaris will resume from October 3, 2026, marking the beginning of the 2026–27 ecotourism season.

Jeep safari entry will be allowed from 7:30 AM to 10:00 AM in the morning and 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM in the afternoon.
With the new tourism season approaching, tourism stakeholders across Kaziranga have completed preparations to welcome visitors. The Kaziranga Jeep Safari and Tourism Business Welfare Committee is ready for the upcoming season and has already started receiving advance bookings.
The Kaziranga Hotel Association, which plays an important role in the region’s tourism sector, has also completed preparations. As many as 81 guest houses under the association have been renovated, repainted and given a fresh look ahead of the new season.
Hotel owners and staff are now ready to welcome tourists, with hopes that the upcoming tourism season will bring positive business and increased tourist footfall to the region.
Kaziranga witnessed a strong tourist turnout during the 2025–26 financial and tourist cycle, recording 4,68,147 visitors. This included 30,474 foreign tourists. The overall tourist footfall was around 15% higher than the previous year, highlighting the continued popularity of Kaziranga as a major wildlife tourism destination.
With jeep safaris set to resume from October 3, tourism operators, hotels and other stakeholders are now looking forward to another busy season in Kaziranga.
