BRICS Dinner: Xi Jinping Skips PM Modi’s Dinner

Chinese President Xi Jinping skipped the dinner hosted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for BRICS leaders on Saturday night.

Sources said Xi, who had arrived in Delhi earlier in the day and held bilateral talks with PM Modi, missed the dinner due to exhaustion and jet lag following his long flight.

Russian President Vladimir Putin and other BRICS leaders attended the dinner, along with Union ministers and several chief ministers, including Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma.

The two-day BRICS Summit concludes today, with PM Modi scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with leaders of seven countries.
