Apple has sharply increased the prices of its iPhone lineup in India, with hikes of up to 41% shortly after unveiling its latest models.
The price increases are significantly higher than those in the US, where iPhone prices rose by around 10% to 21%.
iPhone 17 Prices Jump
The base-storage iPhone 17 in India now costs ₹99,900, an increase of nearly 21%.

The biggest hike has been recorded for the iPhone Air 1TB, whose price has risen by 41% to ₹2,24,900.
In comparison, the US price of the base iPhone 17 increased by nearly 13% to $899, while the 1TB iPhone Air rose by around 21% to $1,699.
Why Are iPhones Getting More Expensive?
Apple has cited rising costs of memory and storage chips. Growing demand from AI data centres is also increasing competition for these components, pushing up costs across the consumer electronics industry.
India’s import duties and 18% GST further contribute to the higher retail prices compared with the US.
Indian Buyers React
The steep price hikes have triggered reactions on social media, with some users saying the iPhone is becoming increasingly expensive in India.
The move is also unusual for Apple, as older iPhone models typically become cheaper when new generations are launched. This time, prices across existing models have increased instead.
With India becoming an increasingly important market and manufacturing hub for Apple, the latest price increases are likely to draw further attention from Indian consumers.
