Government to provide Nurse and Physiotherapist for post-operative care of the veteran leader: CM
Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma today visited the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) to enquire about the health of former Sorbhog MLA and veteran CPI(M) leader Hamen Das, who is currently recovering from a leg injury sustained in a fall.
It may be noted that Hamen Das underwent surgery at GMCH following the injury and is responding well to the treatment. During his visit, the Chief Minister interacted with Hamen Das and enquired about his well-being. Dr. Sarma also discussed his health condition with the attending doctors and took stock of the treatment and care being provided to him.
The Chief Minister directed the GMCH authorities to ensure that the veteran leader continues to receive the best possible medical care and all necessary treatment facilities until his complete recovery. He also stressed the importance of providing appropriate post-operative care and rehabilitation support.
Dr. Sarma said that to facilitate Hamen Das’s recovery after his return home, the Government of Assam will arrange for the services of a nurse and a physiotherapist at his residence in Sorbhog. The support will ensure that he receives the necessary medical attention, nursing care and physiotherapy during the recovery period, the Chief Minister added.
The Chief Minister expressed his sincere wishes for the veteran leader’s speedy recovery and prayed for his good health and well-being.
