In a major boost to international air connectivity from Northeast India, Air India Express has announced the launch of direct non-stop flights from Guwahati to Dubai and Abu Dhabi, marking a significant milestone for the region’s aviation sector.
The State Government was informed by Air India on Tuesday about the details of the new international services.
According to the airline, direct non-stop flights between Guwahati and Dubai will commence from August 4, while direct non-stop flights between Guwahati and Abu Dhabi will begin operations from August 7.
The new routes are expected to greatly benefit tourists, business travellers, students, and the large Indian diaspora residing in the United Arab Emirates by providing faster and more convenient connectivity from Assam and the Northeast.
As part of the inaugural offer, Air India Express has announced introductory fares starting from ₹21,188 for the Guwahati–Dubai route and ₹19,759 for the Guwahati–Abu Dhabi route.
The launch of these direct international services is expected to strengthen tourism, trade, investment opportunities, and people-to-people ties between Northeast India and the UAE, while further enhancing Guwahati’s position as an emerging international aviation hub.
Passengers planning to travel to the UAE have been advised to book their tickets early to avail themselves of the introductory fares offered for the inaugural flights.
