Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday said the state government is working to make governance more accessible through the Seva Setu platform, which has emerged as one of Assam’s largest digital public service delivery initiatives.

Highlighting the platform’s achievements in a post on social media, Sarma said Assam now offers more than 800 government services online, making public service delivery faster, more transparent and easily accessible to citizens.

“We are working to bring governance right at people’s fingertips. Through Seva Setu, Assam offers over 800 government services online, with more than 1.5 crore services already delivered through the platform in a major initiative towards improving ease of living for our citizens,” the Chief Minister said.

According to information shared by the Chief Minister, Seva Setu has integrated 47 government departments and three Autonomous Sixth Schedule Councils onto a single digital platform, allowing citizens to access a wide range of government services without visiting public offices.

The platform has processed more than 1.5 crore applications so far while maintaining a service disposal rate of over 90 per cent, indicating improved efficiency in public service delivery across the state.

Sarma also said more than 94,000 public grievances have been resolved through the portal, with an overall grievance redressal rate of 86 per cent.

As part of the state’s digital governance initiative, Seva Setu has been fully integrated with DigiLocker, enabling users to securely access and store official documents online. The platform is also accessible through the UMANG mobile application, allowing citizens to avail government services on their smartphones.

The Chief Minister said the initiative aligns with the vision of Digital India and aims to improve ease of living by making governance more transparent, efficient and citizen-centric.

The post was shared as part of the celebrations marking 11 years of the Digital India programme, highlighting Assam’s efforts to strengthen digital governance and enhance public service delivery through technology.
