GSA qualifying round ends on high note as Nabajyoti lifts trophy

The GSA Qualifying Round Cricket League 2025-26 concluded successfully on Saturday at the iconic Judges’ Field in Guwahati, with Nabajyoti Cricket Club emerging as champions after a commanding 9-wicket victory over Brahmaputra Boys Club in the final.

With their impressive performances throughout the tournament, both Nabajyoti Cricket Club and Brahmaputra Boys Club secured promotion to the GSA B Division Cricket League.

The closing ceremony was attended by former Assam first-class cricketer Sushanta Biswa Sarma as the Chief Guest, while Surender Singh, Life Member of the Guwahati Sports Association (GSA), graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour.

Prizes were distributed in the presence of Paresh Chandra Das, President of GSA; Sajjad Zaheer Hussain, Joint Secretary; Bablu Choudhury, Assistant General Secretary; Deep Jyoti Baruah, Assistant General Secretary; and Nasir Gul Khan, Sports Secretary (Cricket).

The Guwahati Sports Association congratulated all participating teams, players, match officials and support staff for their contribution in making the tournament a grand success.
