Minister emphasises efficient governance and fiscal management; says department will prepare a clear roadmap under CM Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma’s guidance
Finance Minister Jayanta Mallabaruah on Thursday chaired an introductory review meeting of the Finance Department at Janata Bhawan, where he was briefed on the department’s key functions, ongoing initiatives, and major areas of responsibility.
Senior officials provided the Minister with a comprehensive overview of the department’s operations and apprised him of various issues and challenges concerning the finance sector. Baruah also reviewed the department’s current activities and discussed measures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in governance.
Emphasising the importance of sound fiscal management and efficient administration, the Finance Minister said the department would work towards preparing a clear roadmap for the future. He stated that the roadmap would be formulated under the guidance of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, with a focus on strengthening financial governance and supporting the state’s developmental priorities.
The meeting marked the Minister’s first detailed review of the department following his assumption of charge and underscored the government’s commitment to prudent financial management and administrative reforms.
