Expanded Assam Cabinet Takes Oath; 12 Ministers Sworn In

The swearing-in ceremony of the expanded Assam Cabinet was held on Friday at the Jyoti-Bishnu International Auditorium in Guwahati.

Ministers Ashwini Rai Sarkar, Ashok Singhal, Dr. Ranoj Pegu, Biswajit Daimary, Keshab Mahanta, Pijush Hazarika, Jayanta Malla Baruah, Bimal Bora, Sushanta Borgohain, Kaushik Rai, Nilima Devi, and Krishnendu Paul took oath as members of the Council of Ministers.

Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya administered the oath of office and secrecy in the presence of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and other dignitaries.

Among the ministers, Bimal Bora took the oath in Sanskrit, Kaushik Rai in Hindi, and Krishnendu Paul in Bengali.

Earlier, four ministers had taken oath on May 12 as part of the Cabinet expansion process.

The ceremony marked another significant step in the formation of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s expanded ministry.
