7 Dacoits & Cattle Thieves Arrested by Basistha Police
In a major crackdown, Basistha Police has arrested a gang of 7 notorious criminals involved in cattle theft and dacoity across multiple districts of Assam.
The arrested persons were nabbed from areas including Hajo, Nalbari, Mukalmua, Adabari, and 9th mile. The gang had been active in various parts of the state, creating panic through organised cattle theft and dacoity.
The arrested individuals have been identified as:
- Abdulla Ali
- Zakir Ali
- Chand Mohammad Ali
- Mostafa Ahmed
- Kafiluddin Ali
- Badshah Ali
Police investigations have revealed that some members of the gang were also involved in previous ATM robbery cases. The gang is suspected to have committed several criminal activities in the region.
CCTV footage of their recent cattle theft operation had helped the police in identifying and tracking the gang. During the operation, police seized one four-wheeler without a number plate, ropes, knives, cash, and four mobile phones.
The gang allegedly used vehicles to carry out cattle thefts in a planned and sophisticated manner.
The arrests have been described as a significant success in curbing organised crime. Further interrogation and investigation are underway.
