Ranjeet Kumar Das Elected Unopposed as Speaker of 16th Assam Legislative Assembly
Senior BJP leader Ranjeet Kumar Das was today unanimously elected as the Speaker of the 16th Assam Legislative Assembly.
He was elected unopposed to the post. Pro-tem Speaker Chandramohan Patowary formally announced the name of Ranjeet Kumar Das in the House.
The election of Ranjeet Kumar Das as the new Speaker marks the beginning of the new legislative session and is expected to bring experienced leadership to the conduct of the Assembly proceedings.
This development comes on the very first day of the 16th Assam Legislative Assembly session.
