Lat Mandal Sent to 5-Day CID Custody in Major Land Scam Case
Prasanta Rabha alias Basanta Rabha, a Lat Mandal of Dispur Revenue Circle, has been remanded to 5 days CID custody by the court.
Rabha was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in connection with a major land scam.
He was reportedly the close aide (right-hand man) of ACS officer Lakshyajyoti Das. During his posting in Dispur, Rabha allegedly collaborated with Circle Officer Lakshyajyoti Das in committing large-scale corruption and irregularities in land-related matters.
Circle Officer Lakshyajyoti Das was also arrested earlier on similar corruption charges.
The case highlights deep-rooted corruption in land administration in the Dispur area. Investigation is ongoing.
