Tense Situation in Digboi After Murder; Protesters Set Auto rickshaw & Car on Fire

Tension gripped the Powai area of Digboi after a murder incident triggered strong protests on Tuesday.

The protests erupted following the murder of Akash Tiwari on Monday night. The accused, Akash Singh, is alleged to have deliberately run over Akash Tiwari with a truck.

Enraged locals took to the streets demanding strict punishment for the accused. In a fit of anger, protesters set one auto-rickshaw on fire. They also torched a Swift car belonging to the accused, Akash Singh.

The situation escalated when protesters clashed with police personnel deployed to control the mob. Some injuries were reported during the confrontation.

According to locals, the murder was linked to a business rivalry. Police have initiated an investigation into the case and are trying to bring the situation under control.

The incident has caused significant tension in the area, and additional security forces have been deployed to prevent further violence.
