No evidence of charter plane crash in Chhattisgarh, officials dismiss reports after on-ground inspection
Authorities in Chhattisgarh have dismissed reports of a charter plane crash in Jashpur district after an on-ground inspection found no evidence to support the claims. The Chhattisgarh government also issued the order stating that there are no reports of such an accident.
According to the district administration, information was received on Monday afternoon about smoke rising in the Narayanpur area, prompting an immediate response. Collector Rohit Vyas and Senior Superintendent of Police Lal Ummed Singh rushed to the spot to assess the situation.
No signs of a crash or wreckage found so far
Information is currently being gathered from local residents. However, officials said that no villager has reported hearing any explosion, and no signs of a crash or wreckage have been found so far.
Jashpur Collector Rohit Vyas said, “We received information through the media about a plane crash in the Narayanpur area. As soon as we received the information, SSP, I, and our entire team arrived at the scene. Our team inspected the surrounding area. However, we have not yet found any evidence of a plane crash. Drone surveillance is also underway. The Forest Department team is scouring the mountain and the forest. But so far, no evidence of any wreckage or debris has been found, nor has any evidence of a plane crash been found. We have also discussed with the villagers. No one has seen such a plane crash, nor has anyone heard any sound of any kind of explosion. So far, no one has confirmed that a plane is missing.”
Surveillance is being done using drone cameras
Teams from the police, district administration, and forest department are continuing surveillance in the area using drone cameras. Authorities reiterated that, as of now, there is no evidence to confirm the reported aircraft crash.
Earlier, there was a report of a chartered aircraft that crashed into a hillside in Jashpur district of Chhattisgarh. It was reported that the crash occurred after the aircraft struck Ara Hill, leading to the fatal accident.
