India’s Vaibhav Suryavanshi has gone to the top of the run charts at the ongoing men’s Under-19 World Cup in Zimbabwe and Namibia.
Suryavanshi’s blistering 175 off just 80 balls in the final against England helped him leapfrog Afghanistan’s Faisal Shinozada to claim the leading run-scorer spot this edition.
After a modest tournament by his own standards until the Super Six stage, the 14-year-old opener caught fire when it mattered most, striking a 33-ball 68 in the semifinal against Afghanistan before producing a record-breaking hundred in the final.
