Guwahati Town Club delivered a dominant all-round performance to register a massive 162-run victory over Young Amateur Club in Match No. 04 of the 8th Assam Premier Club Championship 2025–26 (Guwahati Leg) at Judges’ Field, Guwahati, on Thursday.
After losing the toss and being asked to bat first, Guwahati Town Club put up an imposing total of 291 for 5 in 40 overs, riding on a sensational century by Dhruv Raaj Borah, who smashed 102 runs off 66 balls, including 9 fours and 5 sixes. He was well supported by Devraj Sharma, who also scored a brilliant 102 off 114 balls, while Jayesh Hazarika contributed a quick 27 and Mahadananda Borah added 16 to strengthen the innings.
In reply, Young Amateur Club struggled against disciplined bowling and were bowled out for 129 for 10 in 26.5 overs. Angshunay Bharadwaj top-scored with 34, while Md. Nadimur Rahman (27) and Sanjeev Malakar (17) offered brief resistance.
The Guwahati Town Club bowlers shared the spoils, with Prince Singh leading the attack, claiming 3 wickets for 55 runs in 8 overs. Chandrapal Thakuria, Suruj Moni Hazarika, and Viral Bishnoi also made key breakthroughs to ensure a comfortable win.
For his outstanding century, Dhruv Raaj Borah was adjudged Man of the Match.
The tournament, organised by the Guwahati Sports Association under the aegis of the Assam Cricket Association, continues on Friday with ASEB Sports Club taking on New Star Club.
