Beltola Sports Club Clinches Narrow 7-Run Win Over Nabajyoti Cricket Club

In a gripping encounter at Nehru Stadium, Guwahati, Beltola Sports Club pulled off a thrilling 7-run victory over Nabajyoti Cricket Club in Match No. 9 of the Guwahati Sports Association Qualifying Round Cricket League 2024–25.

Winning the toss, Nabajyoti Cricket Club chose to field first. Beltola Sports Club managed to post a competitive total of 103/8 in 20 overs, with Syed Junaidul Haque top-scoring with a steady 34 off 32 balls, supported by Hirak Jyoti Das (21 off 14) and Rahul Gupta (12 off 25).

In reply, Nabajyoti Cricket Club fought hard but were bowled out for 96 in 19.5 overs, falling just short of the target. Adarsh Saikia (20 off 31) and Farhad Choudhury (17 off 22) kept the chase alive, while Dipjyoti Talukdar added a quick 10 off 6 balls with one six.

Beltola’s bowling attack was the key to their success. Trinayan Baruah delivered a match-winning spell of 3 wickets for just 6 runs in 4 overs, while Jintumoni Deka (1/8 in 4 overs) and Dipjyoti Talukdar (1/20 in 4 overs) also played crucial roles.

For Nabajyoti, Hirak Jyoti Das (1/13 in 3.5 overs), Mayur Gupta (1/10 in 2 overs), and Amlanjyoti Sarma (1/11 in 4 overs) bowled economically but couldn’t prevent Beltola from securing the win.

With this victory, Beltola Sports Club advanced in the qualifying round. The next big clash — the semifinal — will feature Nabajyoti Club facing Frontier Club, promising another exciting battle at Nehru Stadium.
