FC Green Valley Secure Dominant Win Over Frontier Club in GSA Qualifying League
FC Green Valley registered a commanding 57-run victory against Frontier Club in Match No. 2 of the Guwahati Sports Association (GSA) Qualifying Round Cricket League 2024–25, played at Nehru Stadium, Guwahati, on Thursday.
Winning the toss, Frontier Club opted to field first. FC Green Valley capitalized on the opportunity, posting a strong total of 146/7 in 20 overs.
Star batter Nabajyoti Hazarika top-scored with a fluent 65 off 36 balls (4×4, 6×6), while Vinit Kr. Mandal contributed a quick 21 off 18 balls. Narayan Sarkar remained unbeaten on 16 off 29 balls.
In reply, Frontier Club faltered against a disciplined bowling attack and were bundled out for 89 in 17.1 overs.
Simanta Barman shone with the ball, taking 3 wickets for 30 runs, while Rupam Dhar (2/26) and Sambhu Jha (1/08) provided key support.
For Frontier Club, Simanta Barman also impressed with the bat, scoring 32 off 30 balls, while Sonu Basfor (3/16) and Rupjyoti Kalita (2/14) were the main contributors with the ball.
With this win, FC Green Valley opened their campaign on a positive note.
