Traffic Restrictions Announced in Guwahati Ahead of Indian Air Force Flypast

In view of the Air Force Day Flypast to be conducted by Indian Air Force on 9th November alongwith rehearsals on 5th, 6th and 8th November, 2025 at Lachit Ghat, Panbazar, Guwahati it is expected that there will a large gathering of people including VIPs/dignitaries leading to an upsurge in vehicular traffic towards Lachit Ghat on M.G. Road, Panbazar.

As such, the following traffic regulations will be effective on 8th and 9th November, 2025:-

A. Restrictions:

1. No movement of commercial goods carrying vehicle or other heavy vehicle shall be allowed on H.B. Road, A.T. Road, D.G. Road, M.G. Road, B. Baruah Road and G.N.B. Road from 7 AM to 5 PM on 8th & 9th November, 2025.
2. Slow moving vehicles like hand carts, rickshaws, e-rickshaws etc. shall not be allowed to ply from Machkhowa point to Hon’ble Chief Justice Bungalow Point on M.G. Road from 7 AM to 5 PM on 8th & 9th November, 2025.
3. No vehicle, except vehicles having car passes issued and distributed by the Indian Air Force, shall be allowed to ply on the stretch of MG Road between Machkhowa point to Hon’ble Chief Justice Bungalow Point (on both sides) from 11 AM to 5 PM.
4. All city buses coming from Khanapara side towards Bharalumukh side will take G.S Road- AT Road- Athgaon Flyover and they will not take turn towards Panbazar through Panbazar ROB.
5. No heavy vehicle, including inter-district buses and red coloured rural service buses operating under ASTC (except city buses), coming from Jalukbari shall be allowed to enter the city. All these vehicles will be diverted via NH-27 at Jalukbari.
6. Traffic shall be allowed to ply on both sides of HB Road.

B. Diversions:

1. All vehicles, including city buses, coming from Bharalumukh side towards Panbazar/Chandmari side will be diverted at Machkhowa on elevated corridor point towards H.B. Road or A.T. Road. Thereafter, the vehicles going towards Chandmari/Latasil via H.B. Road shall take left turn at NB Hall (Sessions Court) Point and move via FC Road.
2. All vehicles, including city buses, coming from Chandmari side towards Panbazar/Bharalumukh/Jalukbari side shall be diverted at District Library Point towards A.T. Road via Panbazar ROB (South) and proceed to Bharalumukh side.
3. All light vehicles coming from Uzanbazar/Latasil side towards Bharalumukh side shall be diverted at Planetarium Point towards Lamb Road, F.C. Road, Tayebulla point, GNB Road, District Library and take left turn at N.B. Hall (Session Court) Point.

C. Parking of Vehicles:
Vehicles having Red, Blue & Yellow passes issued and distributed by the Indian Air Force shall be allowed to park their vehicles at the designated parking slots.

D. No Parking:

1. Parking of vehicles shall not be allowed on MG Road, FA Road, BRP Road, MLN Road, ARB Road, HB Road and TRP Road.
2. No truck/heavy commercial vehicle shall be allowed to be parked at TRP Road, Lakhi Gali, Chamber Road, SRCB Road, SS Road, Kedar Road and MS Road from 7 AM to 5 PM on 8th & 9th November, 2025.
