India advanced to the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 final by defeating the defending champions Australia, and completing a World Record chase. Harmanpreet Kaur’s 89 and Jemimah Rodrigues’ outstanding 127 not out helped India thoroughly chase down a huge target of 339 to set up a final date with South Africa. This outstanding performance rewrote the record books by becoming the most successful run chase in Women’s ODI history.

The whole country and cricket fraternity were extremely happy with the terrific performance of the Women in Blue. Legendary players like Sachin Tendulkar, Yuvraj Singh, Indian head coach Gautam Gambhir and Proteas icon AB De Villiers were among the few to congratulate the Indian team on their historic win over the mighty Australians.

With an undefeated score of 127 off 134 balls, Jemimah took India over the line and watched as the winning runs were made, ending Australia’s incredible 16-match World Cup winning streak.

India made history by completing the highest-ever successful chase in women’s ODI cricket. Their chase of 339, which ended at 341 for 5 in 48.3 overs, is also the most successful chase in a World Cup knockout match ever, for both men’s and women’s competitions.
