SPF Rules Out Foul Play in Zubeen Garg’s Death; Investigation Still Ongoing

49

The Singapore Police Force (SPF) has issued an official statement addressing widespread speculation and misinformation regarding the death of popular Indian singer and actor Zubeen Garg.

According to the SPF, the case is being investigated in accordance with Singapore’s Coroners Act 2010. Based on preliminary findings, the police have stated that no foul play is suspected in Garg’s death.

The SPF mentioned that the investigation is still ongoing and may take up to another three months to complete. Once concluded, the findings will be submitted to the State Coroner of Singapore, who will determine whether to hold a Coroner’s Inquiry (CI) to establish the exact cause and circumstances of death. The results of the CI will be made public after its conclusion.

Despite the ongoing investigation, the SPF confirmed that on October 1, 2025, it had shared a copy of the autopsy report and preliminary findings with the High Commission of India upon their request.

Reaffirming its commitment to a thorough and professional investigation, the SPF appealed to the public to remain patient and avoid spreading unverified or speculative information regarding the case.
