Assam 2nd highest in Covid-19 vaccine wastage across India

The state of Assam recorded the second highest percentage of Covid-19 vaccine wastage across the country. The Union Health Ministry, on Tuesday 11th May, released data where it showed that Assam wasted 5.92% of Covid-19 vaccine alloted to it.

Haryana topped the chart with 6.49% of vaccine wastage followed by Assam and then Rajasthan with 5.68%. The health ministry of India until now has provided over 18 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccines to states and UTs and another 7 lakh doses will be provided to states and UTs within three days amid surge of Covid-19 cases across the country.

Assam on Monday had reported 5,803 Covid-19 cases with 77 deaths. Kamrup Metro district reported 1,481 fresh cases with 30 deaths.
